by: Lauren Pevehouse

Lisa Vanderpump is a well-known personality in the entertainment industry, particularly in the reality TV realm. As the star of Vanderpump Rules, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the owner of several restaurants in Los Angeles, she has amassed a loyal following of fans. However, her career has not been without controversy, particularly when it comes to legal issues. In this article, we will delve into some of the lawsuits that have been filed against Lisa Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, over the years.

The first lawsuit we will explore was filed on August 7, 2017, by Spot Rescue against Lisa Vanderpump, Ken Todd, and the Vanderpump Dog Foundation. Spot Rescue claimed that Ken Todd became angry when the executive director of the organization refused to provide dogs for a fundraiser gala that Vanderpump sponsored. The organization was seeking $500,000 for breach of contract, fraud, and physical assault.

According to the lawsuit, Ken Todd threw the executive director against a wall and yelled, "Do you know who I am? I will ruin your life!"

In response, Vanderpump stated that the woman was a liar and that there was a reason she was investigated. She also defended her husband, stating that he had given her $40,000 out of the goodness of his heart.

The lawsuit was dismissed after it was filed due to a corporate issue that occurred after it was filed.

On September 12, 2017, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd were sued by Fifi & Romero Boutique owner Yana Syrkin for allegedly failing to give her brand promised credit in social media posts and using her designs to launch a competing petwear line. Syrkin claims that the couple asked about having a custom outfit made for their dog Giggy and proposed that she create custom outfits for the pooch and only charge them the manufacturing costs in exchange for their promotion of her brand.

She later discovered that they had launched their own pet clothing and accessories line called Vanderpump Pets and claimed that they were using her samples and designs. The resolution of this case is unknown.

In August 2019, a woman claimed to have gotten violently ill after eating "white fish covered with an orange cream sauce" at Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant SUR.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, one hour into eating her meal, the patron's head suddenly whipped back, causing her body to move backward as well, as she felt a hot sensation rise from her stomach, into her chest, and then into her throat that she was unable to control.

The lawsuit claims that her head came forward while vomit filled her mouth and she began vomiting profusely. As she fell to the floor, vomiting, the SUR patron began to “defecate through her clothing.”

She was allegedly “unable to stop vomiting or defecating as she kneeled on the floor, causing [her] clothing to soil.” In response, a representative of SUR stated that they have no record of this ever happening from two years ago in 2017.

However, the lawsuit claims that SUR was "inspected by the Health Department on or around July 14, 2017, during which the Health Inspector found seven (7) violations, including unclean food contact surfaces, the presence of rodents, insects, birds and/or other animals, and substandard equipment and utensils."

On January 5, 2020, a Ferrari crashed into Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant/bar, PUMP. The building appeared to be left intact, but various chairs and some glass from the patio's enclosure fell victim to the driver's bumper, and one customer suffered a few scratches. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the incident.

Something is always happening over on Vanderpump Row!
