EPISODE 3: DAVID DOBRIK IS DANGEROUS - ALLEGEDLY!!
David Dobrik is a Dreamer from Slovakia who has found fame on small screens across the globe. With over 88 BILLION views across his platforms, David Dobrik has a reach unlike any other “average Joe” influencer. In his short career, Dobrik has taken home YouTube Creator Rewards, People’s Choice awards, Streamy Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and even two Kid’s Choice Awards.
So, how does one arrive at such success at just twenty-four years old?
The same way as everyone else chasing the American Dream: by using people, and then disposing of them.
Former members of Dobrik’s “Vlog Squad,” a group of friends that appear in Dobrik’s videos, have come forward detailing the horrifying ways this man has used them as fodder without pay for his own personal gain. These former members include OnlyFans phenomenon Trisha Paytas, CEO of Sertified Casting Seth Francois, and Musical Artist Big Nik.
One woman, referred to as Hannah Doe, even describes a night with Dobrik where she was raped by Vlog Squad member and friend of David, “Durte Dom” (Dominykas Zeglaitis).
Four-time YouTube Creator Award Winner David Dobrik posted a video on his channel with over 18.3 million subscribers, of multiple members of the Squad peeking in during the assault described by Hannah. Some even congratulating a sweaty Dom on camera for having his first three-some. Thankfully, the video has since been removed.
Hannah Doe detailed her account of that night to Kat Tenbarge of Business Insider AU. Video streaming podcast The H3 Podcast, has spoken with multiple members of the squad including Trisha Paytas and Jeff Wittek regarding this incident, and many others.
Interestingly enough, this is not the first time Dobrik and his crew have been creepily waiting in the wings, listening to people have sex for a Vlog.
In one video, the popular personality is filming outside of the bedroom door when Vlog Squad Members Corinna Kopf and Jonah go into a room to measure Jonah’s penis… Dobrik and Nash are seen giggling.
Filming outside the door with Jonah, with the theme of the video being Jonah losing his virginity. Jonah leaves the room sweaty and David asks Jonah, “Did it happen?”
The Angry Birds Movie 2 star, David Dobrik teases animal abuse in multiple videos and video titles posted to his YouTube Channel over the last five years, as clickbait to get views.
In a video posted on August 15, 2016, titled THROWING A BUNNY OFF THE BALCONY!! Dobrik teases throwing his pet bunny, Bailey, from his balcony down to his Vlog Squad members on the street below. Dobrik use of animal abuse for click bait helped his video receive over 10 million views. At the 2:58 second mark of the same vlog, Dobrik is heard saying his friend Dom, “is a neo-nazi.”
The six time Streamy Award Winner David Dobrik seems to enjoy torturing his friends with animals as well. For example, Dobrik dumps cockroaches onto his friends who are blind-folded in a bathtub in a “prank” video. Dobrik puts his friend in the bathtub blind folded and puts a snake on him, knowing he is afraid of snakes in a later video.
A subsequent video titled PUTTING OUR PIG INTO THE OVEN!! Dobrik purchases a piglet and keeps it in a Home Depot box, and even forcing the pig to swim in the pool. Dobrik and his crew make jokes about slaughtering the pig and feeding it ham. The video is also riddled with racist “Black Jokes" made at the expense of Seth Francois.
Former Vlog Squad Member Big Nik left vlog squad due to Dobrik’s constant bullying. Big Nik was born with a rare form of drawfism and is blind in one eye. Dobrik posted and profited off of teasing Big Nik about his size since 2016. Big Nik told the H3 Podcast in a recent interview, “I felt worthless being in those videos. I was like, dude, why am I even, like, here? What’s the point in my existence?”
In addition to blasting harmful jokes about his disabled “friend” in videos with over 13 million viewers, Dobrik’s videos also rely on racism as a mechanism for humor.
Seth Francois recounts multiple times that David Dobrik has used him as a punch line for racist jokes, like Dobrik smearing chocolate pudding on his face in blatant Black Face.
In a video that helped him earn a Shorty Award for Vlogger of the Year in 2017, titled ARE WE RACIST!!?, opens with Dobrik’s former girlfriend, Liza Koshy, mimicking an Asian accent.
In a vlog posted to David Dobrik’s YouTube Channel, Liza mimicks Asian woman after Dobrik says she, “look(s) like a little Tiwanese boy who, like, picks fruit on, like, a big field.”
David Dobrik has repeatedly made racist jokes by mimicking Asian accents. In a since deleted post, Dobrik mimicked Japanese language in an attempt to make fun of Japanese snacks.
David Dobrik went on to win a Streamy Award for Breakout Creator the very same year.
2019 People’s Choice Award winner for Favorite Social Star David Dobrik played a prank on his housekeeper, Chiqui. David begins the video by making it very clear to the audience that, “[Chiqui]’s going to have no idea what we’re going to do to her. No idea.”
Dorbik and Nash proceed to pull out a brick of cocaine. Nash “tests” the cocaine by doing lines off of the table, leaving white residue on his face.
Dobrik then begins to accuse Chiqui of smuggling the brick of coke, asking, “WHO IS YOUR BOSS? IS IT EL CHAPO?” Dobrik proceeds to dump four or so more bricks of cocaine onto the table in from of Chiqui when a pounding is heard at the front door and a police officer enters the residence. Chiqui is seen holding two bricks of cocaine in her hands, and one in her apron, while screaming, “no, this is your house.”
Dobrik and the officers continue to interrogate Chiqui, and Dobrik is heard saying, “Chiqui, don’t pretend like you don’t speak English.” The officers then point their weapons at Chiqui, who has her hands up on the couch.
While it is clear in the video that Chiqui is “in on the joke,” this video does make me wonder: what children nominated this loser for a Kid’s Choice Award. And furthermore, what adult was like, “yeah, good idea!”
Dobrik, listed as Actor, Director, Writer, Producer, Cinematographer, Camera and Electrical Department, Editor, and Additional Crew for “TV Series: David’s Vlog” on the International Movie Database, seemingly does not have any safety protocol or procedures in place during his major “pranks.”
Multiple videos on Dobrik’s YouTube channel feature footage of Dobrik and his friends going to the hospital due to yet another injury. In one video, Dobrik Vlogs an incident where a member of his squad cracked his head open, resulting in the need for staples.
During a recent attempt to make a comeback to YouTube after a hiatus, 2021 Kids Choice Nominee for Favorite Male Social Star David Dobrik rented an excavator machine and attached a rope to it. Dobrik, without proper licensing, without safety protocol, and without any experience operating heavy construction machinery, tied a rope to the machine and proceeded to swing his friend Jeff Wittek around in circles at high speed.
When the excavator machine operated by a one-handed David Dobrik (using his other hand to film) reached max speed, it immediately turned off due to a built-in safety feature. This caused Wittek to continue spinning, ultimately slamming into the machine.
Wittek required multiple surgeries, and even developed a stutter after the tragic event.
24-year-old David Dobrik regularly brags about filming for 4+ hours to get enough footage for just one of his 4:20 second blogs.
After seeing the footage that makes it into the vlogs, I am very curious to see the content that is left on the cutting room floor.
In a video notably missing from David Dobrik’s personal and most subscribed to YouTube Channel where he posts his content, Dobrik sat in front of his Kids Choice Award and spoke for 2:32 seconds about his love for his making people happy though his videos and the importance of consent.
It is important to note that former Vlog Squad member and Ex-Girlfriend of VIEWS co-host Jason Nash, Trisha Paytas has spoken out about Dobrik making videos and using footage of Paytas without her consent.
The short "apology" video titled Let’s talk, was posted on Dobrik’s VIEWS Podcast channel shared with Jason Nash with the commenting feature turned off. A clear invitation to actually, not talk.
Dobrik states that he "does not stand for any misconduct," and is "disappointed in some of his friends" for the way they acted in his videos, forcing Dobrik to "separate from a lot of them." Dobrik promises viewers that he has learned from his mistakes and his "actions will speak louder than his words" in the video posted on March 16, 2021.
Jason Nash, Dobrik’s right hand man and co-host of the podcast VIEWS, is generally the center of most of David’s videos.
The 47-year-old father of two Jason Nash has done the following in videos for Dobrik’s channel:

Jason Nash duct tapes a power drill to his chest and rips out chest hair. David makes him do it AGAIN.
Jason Nash recorded an unsuspecting person by holding a camera under the dressing room door at Urban Outfitters.

Jason Nash talks about his 10 year old son’s penis.
Jason Nash puts his bare ass in Big Nik’s face, then makes Scotty touch his ball sack.
Jason Nash “has sex” with Corinna’s mom so he always has something to “hold over Corinna.”
Jason Nash has his butthole waxed. (The laughter and screaming is so out of touch. Every woman who has ever had a Brazilian wax knows the butt-hole strip is the easiest part.)
On March 22, 2021, Dobrik finally released a video to his personal channel titled 3/22/21, where he discusses the video he posted after Hannah Doe’s assault and rape. David states, “I got consent to post the video. Even though I got the consent to post that video, I should have never posted it.”
Dobrik claims that he was ignorant of the unfair power dynamic between him and the people that he films with, and that he regrets not making sure that everyone was safe and cared for.
“I realize there is a serious lack of infrastructure when I make any kind of content, and I want to have a place of checks and balances, I want to have HR…” David said in his address to his followers.
It is hard to imagine that a person who has been in the public eye for over 6 years, with over 88 billion streams, 18.3 million YouTube followers alone, multiple (former) brand deals with huge companies like Chipotle, EA Games, multiple merchandise lines, and a net worth of over $20 million dollars is operating with a lack of infrastructure.
Whether the issue is David’s personality, or his lack of infrastructure, it is clear that his actions are harmful to others.
